How do you install Google apps on a Huawei tablet?

In short

Download the GBox app from the Huawei AppGallery, sign in with your Google account through it, then install the apps you want from the Google Play Store.

Step by step

  1. Open the Huawei AppGallery on the tablet.
  2. Download the GBox app.
  3. Sign in with your Google account through GBox.
  4. Use the Google Play Store through GBox.
  5. Install the apps you want, for example Google Maps, Google Photos, Google Drive or office apps like Word and Excel.

Jen says the apps then run flawlessly, as if the tablet had the Play Store from the start. She points out that GBox is a third-party app: When you sign in with your Google account, it gets access to your data. You should weigh that beforehand.
