How do you use multiple desktops in Samsung DeX?

Connect the phone to a monitor, tap the three lines at the bottom left and see the desktops at the top. The plus icon creates new ones, and the arrow moves apps.

Step by step

  1. Connect the Galaxy S26 Ultra to a monitor.
  2. Tap the three lines at the bottom left. The different desktops are now shown at the top.
  3. Switch between the desktops using this display, without having to swipe back and forth.
  4. Tap the plus icon at the top right to create a new, empty desktop. Open the apps you want to see on it.
  5. To move an open app to another desktop, tap the small arrow at the top and choose Move to other desktops.

Jen gives the example of one desktop with YouTube and Instagram and a second one for work, which you can switch between quickly. The desktops you create are saved. According to Jen, this view of the desktops is new in the One UI 9 beta; before, you had to swipe through.

You need a device from the Galaxy S26 series. In the Members app, register for the One UI beta under Beta program, then download it.

How do you turn on text highlighting in One UI 9?

In the settings under Accessibility, Size and zoom, turn on text highlighting. A button then appears that shows small text in large size.

How do you create a reminder from a Samsung note?

In the note, tap the three dots at the top right, choose Add to and create a reminder. It opens in Samsung Reminder and is linked to the note.

Open the three dots in the note, choose Lock and set a password. Samsung Notes asks for it when you open the note.

Press and hold the New button at the bottom right, choose Template, pick a format and category, and create the note. Later you can change it via the three dots and Note style.

In the settings under Lock screen, Extend Unlock, add the Galaxy Watch 8 as a trusted device. Then the phone stays unlocked as long as you wear the watch.
