How do you show apps like Instagram in landscape on the Galaxy Tab S7?

In Settings, under Advanced features and Labs, open the function for showing apps in landscape, choose the app and set the app aspect ratio.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced features, then Labs.
  3. Tap Show apps in landscape.
  4. Find the app you want, for example Instagram, and tap it.
  5. Choose the app aspect ratio.
  6. Open the app again. It now appears in the normal app aspect ratio, even when the tablet is in landscape.

Some apps aren’t optimized for tablets and stay in portrait even in landscape mode. There are three options to choose from: the app default, full screen and the app aspect ratio.

Jen doesn’t find full screen convincing for individual posts. With the app aspect ratio, you can scroll through the Instagram feed in landscape just fine.
