Rent or buy? The Samsung ecosystem at Grover
Verdict in brief
If you want to try new Samsung tech without buying it at a high price, you can rent it flexibly from Grover. This makes especially good sense because the Galaxy ecosystem shines with multiple devices.
I am a self-confessed tech enthusiast and like testing new devices. But the prices for new smartphones, tablets, and laptops are by now beyond any pain threshold. It has also happened to me that I bought a device for a lot of money and then realized it ended up in a drawer. That is why I think it is wonderful that at Grover you can rent the latest technology in an uncomplicated and flexible way. Ad: Grover is the advertising partner here.
The devices: Galaxy Book3 Ultra and Tab S8 Ultra
I wanted to test two current Samsung flagships.
- Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra: 14.6-inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz, a lot of fun for watching videos. Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 processor it is mega fast, and I can well imagine that for many people it is even enough as a laptop replacement.
- Galaxy Book3 Ultra: recently released, with an Intel Core Evo i7 or i9 to choose from, a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with 3K resolution and 120 Hz. Two USB-C, HDMI, one USB, and an SD card slot are present, so you don’t need adapters. I wouldn’t have bought it just like that.
The Samsung ecosystem
If you thought Apple had the patent on the best ecosystem, you may be surprised, as I was: Samsung is by now every bit its equal. My highlights:
- Quick Share: Like Apple’s AirDrop, you use it to send photos and documents from one Samsung device to the next. Also via link, which you can send to non-Samsung devices such as iPhones. There you retrieve the file via the link or scan the barcode. I think it is great that the communication doesn’t only work within your own ecosystem.
- Multi Control: My personal highlight. With the mouse of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra I control the Tab S8 Ultra or another Samsung tablet and my S23 Ultra, and I use the Book’s keyboard for input on all devices.
- Tablet as a second screen: The Tab S8 Ultra can be used as an extended screen for the Galaxy Book3 Ultra.
It makes sense to use several devices from the Samsung ecosystem at the same time to get the full benefit.
Renting from Grover
Ad: The rental plans run for one, three, or six months, or for a year. The devices are, as with mine, either brand new or as good as new.
I also consider such a rental model extremely sustainable: if you don’t use the tech as much as you thought, you send it back and someone else keeps using it. That is definitely something to consider in the current times.
