Bose Lifestyle Collection unboxed: first impressions and setup
Verdict in brief
Jen has the Bose Lifestyle Collection with soundbar and subwoofer set up in minutes, it looks high quality in the living room and sounds clear with powerful bass. A first impression that she deepens with the features in another video.
Pros
- Manageable contents and very easy setup
- Custom Tune calibrates the sound to the room
- Timelessly stylish design in white or black
- Clear sound with powerful bass
- Speech Clarity for clear dialogue
Bose has once again released a new home speaker collection. I set up the new Bose Lifestyle Collection in my living room. My upgrade consists of a subwoofer and a soundbar. This is a first impression with unboxing and setup.
What’s in the box
The contents are manageable, and I really like that.
- Soundbar: power cable, HDMI eARC cable for the TV and quick start guide
- Subwoofer: only a power cable and instructions
Setup in a few steps
- Plug both devices into power.
- Connect the soundbar to the TV with the HDMI eARC cable.
- Download the Bose app on your smartphone. The two devices appear automatically.
- Connect to Wi-Fi in the app. That completes the entire sound system setup.
The subwoofer connects wirelessly to the soundbar: put it in place, switch it on, let it connect. The Bose app even asks what the room looks like in order to adapt the sound to it. That’s called Custom Tune and it’s not just a marketing term, because it really calibrates to your personal room. Once it’s set up, everything stays the way it should.
Design
I’m thrilled by the timelessly stylish design. I chose the white model, and the collection also comes in black. With the glass elements and the fabric, the soundbar looks breathtakingly chic and fits well into my living room.
Sound
Through the app I control the soundbar’s sound and the strength of the subwoofer. The sound is full and clear, and the bass could shine even in a club. With just the soundbar and subwoofer, my TV evening already sounds like the cinema. The sound comes only from the front, but it fills the whole room for movies and music. Features like Speech Clarity provide crystal-clear dialogue. If you want real 3D Dolby surround, you can order two speakers and place them around the room.
Verdict
The setup is super easy, and the collection looks in the living room as if it had always been there. According to Jen, the features include voice control and Speech Clarity, among others. She shows the features in another video.
