Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7?
Jen would buy the Galaxy Z Fold 7 again, but a bit disillusioned: she hardly uses the inner display. In return, durability, battery and slim design convince. Because of the high expectations for the inner display, it is worth asking beforehand how you would really use it.
Pros
- Hinge still just as stable after 4 months, crease unchanged
- Body handles drops and a bag full of keys well without a case
- Matte black back seems scratch-proof
- Closed like a normal smartphone, open a very thin tablet
- Battery lasts more than a day, no decline after 4 months
Cons
- Closed, it wobbles on the table because of the camera bump
- Slight creaking when opening the hinge
- Keyboard on the inner display doesn't work for Jen
- Instagram in the unfolded format is no fun
- 4,400 mAh is not great

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8?
The Galaxy Z Fold8 wins Jen over with its size, weight and new format. The missing Flex Hinge is her biggest criticism, and the camera and battery are compromises too. At an RRP of €1,999, they should have been much smaller.
Pros
- Handy, thin and light, fits in small handbags and in a pants pocket
- Usable with one hand, the wider cover display makes typing easier
- Portrait-format inner display with a wider aspect ratio, great for split screen, Kindle and web pages
- Brighter displays, crease 99.9% eliminated according to Jen
- Battery lasts longer than on the Z Fold 7 in the early days
Cons
- No Flex Hinge: the hinge stops holding from about 90 degrees and slowly opens by itself
- No telephoto camera, only wide and ultrawide with 50 megapixels each
- Battery at 4,800 mAh is not large
- On the short cover display, the keyboard takes up half of the screen
