Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4?
After four weeks with the Galaxy Watch 4, Jen is very happy and prefers wearing it to the Apple Watch SE. It convinces as a fitness tracker. The body composition measurement was way off compared to the gym, and Samsung should improve it.
Pros
- Light case with aluminum frame, no scratches after four weeks
- Bright display, easy to read even in sunlight
- Google Maps on the watch for navigating on foot and by bike
- Control the smartphone camera from the watch, with preview
- Convincing fitness tracker with Samsung Health and many sports
Cons
- Body composition measurement differs widely from the gym measurement
- Battery life of two days is much shorter than on the Galaxy Watch 3
- Google Assistant is still missing on the watch

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5?
The Galaxy Watch 5 is an excellent everyday companion and a very good choice for a new smartwatch if you don't mind charging it daily. If you have the Watch 4, you don't need the upgrade, unless you want the temperature feature once it is available.
Pros
- Nice size and barely noticeable at 28.7 g (40 mm)
- Sapphire glass display
- Wear OS with Google Assistant, display responds faster to touch
- Good tracking of sports, sleep, and body composition with Samsung Health
- Replying with a swipe-gesture keyboard works surprisingly well
Cons
- Battery lasts only about 1.75 days, the watch has to be charged daily
- Temperature functions are not yet available at launch
- Only small differences from the Galaxy Watch 4
