Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus?
For Jen, the Galaxy S23 Plus is already an absolute flagship and sits better in the hand. For €200 more, the S23 Ultra offers the S Pen, 100x zoom, macro mode and 200 megapixels. For most people, the Plus is enough.
Pros
- S23 Plus: flat display, lower weight (195 g) and good feel in the hand
- S23 Plus: Full HD+ display is hardly distinguishable from WQHD+
- S23 Ultra: S Pen, 200-megapixel camera, 100x zoom and macro mode
- Both: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, very good battery life, strong speakers
Cons
- S23 Ultra: angular and heavy at 233 g, screen protectors lift at the curved edge
- S23 Ultra with 256 GB has only 8 GB of RAM, noticeably slower than with 12 GB
- S23 Plus: no S Pen, no macro mode, only 30x zoom

Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus?
For Jen, the Galaxy S24 Plus is the better S24 Ultra for anyone who values handling and low weight and doesn't need an S Pen. In everyday use, performance, display, and Galaxy AI are almost identical, and the Ultra costs €300 more.
Pros
- Extremely well built, matte glass back, brushed aluminum frame
- 6.7-inch display with 513 ppi and up to 2,600 nits
- 36 g lighter than the S24 Ultra, sits more comfortably in the hand
- Exynos 2400 without stutters, Galaxy AI runs smoothly, 12 GB of RAM
- Battery lasts at least two days
- Like the Ultra: IP68, 45-watt charging, 15-watt wireless charging, Samsung DeX
Cons
- Main camera with 50 megapixels versus 200 megapixels on the Ultra, noticeable differences
- No S Pen
- Possible performance limits in graphically demanding games or rendering
