Galaxy Watch: how to stop the voice announcements (Audio Guide)

If you track workouts with the Galaxy Watch, you know it: by default, the watch gives an audible workout announcement after every kilometer. I find that super annoying while running, because my music or my podcast is always interrupted. All the information I need during a run, I can see on the watch at any time. I searched for the setting to turn it off for a long time. Once you know it, it’s very quick. It works on the Galaxy Watch 3 and on the other models.

How to turn off the Audio Guide

1. On the watch, open Workout.
2. Don’t start right away with the quick start function, but open the menu that shows all the workout types.
3. Choose the workout type, for example Running.
4. Tap the small gear on the side. There you’ll find all the settings.
5. At the very bottom is Audio Guide. Turn it off, and there are no more voice announcements.

Only changing the interval

If you don’t want to turn the announcements off completely, but just have them less often, use the auto lap in the menu:

• Distance: You set whether the announcement should come every 1, 5 or 10 kilometers, for example.
• Time: You have the workout announcement given after a certain time.
• Off: Then you get no audio output at all, but the decisive thing is the Audio Guide.
