Samsung Galaxy Watch 7
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7?
The Galaxy Watch 7 is faster, lasts a good two days and brings an exciting new kind of tracking with the AGEs index. Jen is bothered by the still short battery life, the long charging time, limitations without a Galaxy smartphone and the missing reverse wireless charging.
Pros
- Faster Exynos W1000, notifications arrive in real time
- Battery lasts a bit more than two days, much longer than on the Galaxy Watch 6
- Improved biosensors: workouts are detected very quickly
- New AGEs index shows how your metabolism is doing
- First AI features, 32 GB instead of 16 GB of storage, Wear OS with apps like Spotify
Cons
- Battery at a day and a half to two days is still too short
- Charging takes 1.5 hours with a fast charger, over 2 hours without
- Some features only with a current Galaxy smartphone
- No more reverse wireless charging via the Samsung smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8
What does Jen say about the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8?
The Galaxy Watch 8 can do more than many people know: gestures, animated watch faces, faster animations, phone unlocking and a personal bedtime. The antioxidant index is still in beta, and Jen's favorite app is Simple Wear.
Pros
- Gestures for calls, alarms, music and remote shutter
- Animations in the developer options make the watch noticeably snappier
- Phone stays unlocked as long as the watch is worn
- Bedtime guidance adapts to your personal rhythm
- Simple Wear controls the smartphone from your wrist
Cons
- Most gestures only work really well with Samsung apps
- Antioxidant index is still in beta and doesn't seem very meaningful
- GIF watch faces use more battery
